Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026. Written to be read, not skimmed. If anything here is unclear, write to privacy@gruuv.app.
1. What we collect
Account details. Your email address, optional name, business name, business type, city and timezone. We use passwordless sign-in links, so we never store a password.
Onboarding answers. The answers you give during the start quiz (how often you post, what gets in the way, your tone, your busiest time). They tune your plan and defaults and are kept with your account.
Moments. Photos, voice notes, transcripts, typed text and links you capture, with the time you captured them. This is your journal and it is the core of the service.
Posts and performance. The drafts Gruuv writes, your edits and tweaks, what you schedule and publish, and the metrics (reach, likes, comments, saves, shares, clicks) the connected platforms report for those posts.
Connected accounts. When you connect a social account we store the identifiers and access tokens the platform gives us so we can publish on your behalf. We never store your platform password.
Community content. Your collab profile, circle memberships, support actions and anything submitted to your public Ask link by your audience.
Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) kept briefly for security and debugging. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
2. How we use it
- To run the service: save your journal, write and schedule posts, publish them, and report results.
- To personalise: your voice profile learns from your edits, tweaks and ratings so drafts sound more like you over time.
- To send you things you asked for: sign-in links, daily reminders (if enabled), a weekly digest (if enabled) and account notices.
- To power community features you opt into: Collabs directory listings, Circle boards and your Ask link.
- To keep Gruuv safe: rate limiting, abuse prevention and fraud checks.
We do not sell your data and we do not use your moments to advertise to you.
3. AI processing
To write posts, describe photos, summarise links and learn your voice, we send the relevant moment (text, transcript, link summary and, for photo posts, the image) together with your voice profile to an AI provider. Where we use a third-party model provider, the data is sent only to generate your output and is not used by us to train shared models. Where no provider is configured, a built-in template engine runs instead and nothing leaves our servers.
4. Who we share with
- Social platforms you connect, strictly to publish the posts you schedule and to read their performance.
- Infrastructure providers that host the service and store media.
- An email provider to deliver sign-in links and digests.
- A payment provider for Pro subscriptions. We never see your full card number.
- Other Gruuv members, only for things you make visible: your collab profile (if visible), posts shared to a circle board, and your public Ask page.
5. Storage and security
Data is stored on globally distributed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Media is stored under unguessable keys. Access tokens for connected accounts are stored server-side only. We keep server logs for a short, fixed period and delete them automatically.
6. Your rights
- Export: Settings → Data downloads your whole journal and posts as JSON, any time.
- Correct: edit your profile, business details and voice profile in Settings.
- Disconnect: remove any connected account instantly; we delete its tokens.
- Delete: delete your account from Settings. Your moments, posts, media and profile are removed; anonymised aggregate statistics may remain.
- Object or ask: email privacy@gruuv.app and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
7. Cookies
Gruuv sets one essential cookie, gruuv_session, to keep you signed in. The app also keeps small amounts of data in your browser (for example your in-progress onboarding answers and an offline capture queue) so you do not lose work. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Children
Gruuv is for businesses and creators and is not intended for anyone under 16.
9. Changes
When we change this policy in a way that matters we will show a notice in the app and update the date at the top. Continued use after that means you accept the updated policy.
